Another popular piece on my grandmother's patio was a metal glider that didn't rock but instead featured a sliding motion. I remember it being painted white, then later repainted in a bright yellow.

Outdoor patio manufacturers now offer many retro styles. The difference is that they are even more durable and lasting than their older counterparts. As previously mentioned, you're probably better off with a new piece of furniture. But if you've got your heart set on a true vintage piece for your patio, there are some places that offer restored furniture from days gone by. Inspect the piece in detail before buying to make sure it's free from rust and wear.

Whether you choose an authentic retro piece or a new piece which has the inspired retro look, retro patio furniture can bring new life to any outdoor area.
